Wike suspends four commissioners

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has approved the suspension of four serving commissioners in the state.

This was contained in a statement made available by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu.

The affected commissioners are: Dr. Fred Kpakol (Commissioner for Finance), Dr. John Bazia (Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs), Mrs. Tonye Oniyide-Briggs (Commissioner for Culture and Tourism) and Hon. Boma Iyaye (Commissioner for Sports).

Also suspended are the Head of Service, HOS, Barrister Rufus Nkere-Awaji Godwins and the Special Adviser on Lands to the Governor, Barrister Onugbum Onouha.

The governor, however, did not give reasons for their suspension.

The statement further said that the suspension will last for three months.
