By: Felix Ikpotor

As the rerun legislative elections in Rivers State draws closer, president of the apex Ogoni socio-cultural organization, KAGOTE, Dr. Peter Medee has called on people of the area especially students to take their destiny in their hands by voting for someone that has the capacity of liberating the araea from poitical marginalization.

He said among the candidates presently contesting for elections in the area especially in the Rivers South East, only Senator Magnus Ngei Abe  has such quality and ability to liberate the area, saying that is the reason the state governor, Nyesom Wike is struggling to stop him from winning  the forth comin rerun election.

Medee stated this during the inauguration of  the National Union of Ogoni Students, NUOS, University of Port Harcourt chapter.

He explained that for fifty years the Ogonis had not held any top position in the state despite its status as one of the largest ethnic group in the state, charging the students to use the opportunity provided by the rerun election to right the wrongs done to the Ogoni people  by voting massively for the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Magnus Abe.

KAGOTE boss called on the student to join in the struggle for liberation by rallying behind Abe in the forthcoming election.

While congratulating the new leadership of NOUS in the school, he assured them that no Ogoni student will be allowed to suffer intimidation and victimization as the organization is interested in the youths as the future of the area.
