Rivers: APC raising an army of youths in ONELGA – Council boss alleges

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area of Rivers state, Osi Olisah has alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is raising an army in Agu and Ujju communities to unleash mayhem in the area.

The allegation of the Chairman we have learnt is coming as a reaction to comments credited to the DG of NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside who claimed that killings had continued in ONELGA despite the amnesty programme of the state governor, Nyesom Wike.

Olisah insisted that contrary to Dakuku’s claims, peace had returned to ONELGA, adding that the pockets of crime being witnessed in the area were being sponsored by the party.

“There has been relative peace in ONELGA since the introduction of the amnesty programme.

“In fact, the only set of people who have refused to accept the amnesty are from Dakuku’s party, the APC.

“Dakuku should stop making unecessary comments. Since he became the Director General of NIMASA, he has lost touch with happenings in Rivers state.

“As the Chief Security Officer of ONELGA, I have it on good authority that the APC is raising an army in Aga and Ujju Communities in Egbema to foment trouble for us.

“The APC have perfected plans to compromise the peace we have struggled to achieve in our local government.

“We are not bothered because we believe we have the capacity to match them. I can only warn those boys to desist from being used by any political party, group or individual”, Olisah said.

The council boss called on leaders of the APC in Rivers state to stop playing politics with security of the people.

He challenged the police to make public the report on the killing of DSP Alkali during the December 10th supplemenatary election, just as he vowed that he would stop at nothing to end the activities of cultists and other criminal gangs in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area
