Confusion as SAR’s stray bullet kills driver in Rivers

Ogbogoro community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State was thrown into pandemonium yesterday following the killing of a cab driver, Ngozi Dennis by stray bullet.

The people of the community we gathered took to the streets breaking bottles and disrupting flow of traffic as a result of the Killing.

Eyewitness told newsmen that men of the Special Anti-Robbery squad, SARS stormed the community and started shooting sporadically.

The eyewitness further said the stray bullet hit Denis who was on his way to the community.

It is yet to be ascertained why SARS stormed the community.

Son of the deceased driver, Joshua Dennis said that his late father was indiscriminately shot by SARS officials.

He denied claims that his father was a culprit, “It is not true. My father is a taxi driver. He loads passengers from Ozuoba to Ogbogoro here. Everybody knows him. The police must explain why they came into our community.

 Spokesman of the Rivers state Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni is yet to comment on the matter at the time of this report.
