Gunmen kill two, kidnap lecturer, daughter in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two persons in Omoku town in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area.

The victims, who were simply identified as Emma and Dele were murdered Monday night at their residence on Ahoada Road.

A source who claimed to be neighbour to the victims said that the killers fired randomly  to scare away people before taking down their targets.

‎Police spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni, said the men were killed over cult related dispute.

Omoni, who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said men of the Anti-Cultism Unit had been deployed to unravel those behind the attack.

 “Our men have visited the scene of the latest killing in Omoku and moved the remains of the deceased to the mortuary, as investigations continue,” he said.

similarly,  a lecturer at the Federal College of Education-Technical in Omoku and his daughter are still missing.

Isaac Messiah and his daughter were abducted from their residence by gunmen who drove in a Toyota Camry car.

The incident happened around Lagos Avenue, off Ogboo road in Omoku town, the headquarters of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

These incidents happened barely three days after youths of Omoku announced their resolve to shun cultism and violent crimes, as well as to resist politicians that may want to use them for violence.
