JUST IN: Buhari sacks Lawal, Oke, appoints Mustafa as new SGF

President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has with immediate effect sacked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir David Lawal, and Director General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke.

The decision came after studying the report of the investigatory panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

This was contained in a statement by the Presidential Adviser on Media, Femi Adesina on Monday.

The President also appointed Mr. Boss Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The appointment according to the statement takes immediate effect. This is the first time someone as high as the Secretary to the Government of the federation is being sacked in Nigeria.
