Amaechi’s ‘boy’, Flag-Amachree emerges new Rivers APC chairman

A former Chairman of Asari-Toru local government area of Rivers State, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, has emerged the new State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ojukaye’s emergence as the new Rivers State Chairman of APC came by way of affirmation from the party delegates in a State congress that began as early as 5am, Monday.

It was gathered  that the APC decided to conduct the State Congress early Monday morning over fears that the Senator Magnus Abe group of the party may further stall the congress through a court injunction.

However, the decision to make Ojukaye the Chairman we further learnt came after last-minute strategic meeting, presided over by Nigeria’s Transportation Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who is the leader of APC in the state.

Ojukaye, who is most touted to be a strong loyalist of  Amaechi, takes over from Chief Davies Ibiamu-Ikanya.

In the congress conducted this morning, Chief Emeka Bekee was returned as the Secretary of the party while Chris Finebone was also retained as the State Publicity Secretary of the APC in Rivers state.

Meanwhile, the Abe group boycotted the congress saying there is a court injunction stopping further congresses of the APC in the state, adding that the order has not been vacated.
