Imo: Okorocha swears in 27 newly-elected LG chairmen

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has sworn in the newly-elected local government chairmen in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony was done at the Government House in Owerri on Monday.

 While speaking at the event, the governor charged the new chairmen to ensure that they commit themselves to meaningful projects and programmes in their respective communities at the grassroots.

He said“The people have yearned for a representative for a long time and have proved their desire by going out in large numbers to vote in candidates of their choice.

“To whom much is given, much is expected.”

Okorocha further stated that his administration will continue to embark on developmental projects that will ensure that people at the grassroots also benefit from the dividends of democracy.
