2019: Imo APC snubs Oshiomhole, adopts indirect primaries

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State has adopted the indirect mode of primaries for all elective positions in the party ahead of the 2019 general election.

The National Executive Council of the party had after a meeting in Abuja last week adopted direct primaries at all levels.

The Imo APC however reached a different decision at an emergency meeting of the State Executive Council, SEC, held at the Imo International Convention Center, IICC.

The meeting was presided over by the state chairman, Dan Nwafor, who disclosed that the re-validation of membership of the party has started.

Also in attendance was the Chief of Staff to the Imo state governor, Uche Nwosu, Okorocha’s endorsed APC governorship aspirant, among others.

Okorocha was, however, represented at the meeting by the Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Acho Ihim.
