Gunmen allegedly hijack passenger bus in Rivers

Unknown gunmen yesterday, hijacked a bus loaded with 18 passengers in Emohua local government area of Rivers State.

The incident reportedly happened  around 7a.m on Evekwu area of the East-West road.

It was gathered that the bus was travelling from Ahoada area to Port Harcourt axis before they were attacked.

It was also learnt that the bus  was diverted into the bush on gunpoint.

A community source, disclosed that passengers on the road were stranded for over 40 minutes before security operates arrived the scene.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, DSP. Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to react to the development.
