Rivers govt frees Flag-Amachree, drops murder charges against him

The Rivers state government has freed the factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Tthe state, Mr.  Ojukaye Flag-Amachree as it has droped all murder charges against him.

Flag-Amachree has been standing trial since after the 2015 general elections in the state for alleged murder of some persons in Buguma during the elections.

It was gathered that the State High Court 2, chaired by Justice J N Akpughunum on Tuesday dropped the charges following the presentation of a Nolly Prosee filed by the State Attorney General, Zacheas Adangor through the prosecuting counsel Godwin Obla SAN.

Obla told the court that the State has no interest in the matter and filed to discontinue the case.

Reacting,  Emenike Ebete, lawyer to Flag-Amachree said with this his client has no case to answer.
