RSU set to graduate 2,896 students, presents 36 First Class

The management of the Rivers State University, RSU, says the school will be graduating a total of 2, 896 students during its 31st Convocation slated for this weekend.

This is even as the school said a total of 36 students are expected to be presented with first class honours during the convocation.

This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Blessing Didia during a press conference to unveil activities for the convocation.

Represented by the Chairman, Senate Ceremonial Committee, Professor Markson Ahiakwo, the VC said: “This year we shall be graduating 2,896 undergraduate students and 539 post graduate students”.

 Didia said: “ The major highlights of this year’s convocation is the graduation of 36 first class graduands,” stressing that students of the school are doing well.

A breakdown of the graduands shows that the faculty of management sciences has the highest number with 718, followed by faculty of engineering with 605.

Others includes faculty of agriculture with 134, education 443, environmental sciences has 218 while faculty of sciences has 539 and law 241.

The VC said visitor to the and Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike is expected to top the list of dignitaries for the event.

Other activities lined up for the event includes a convocation lecture, cultural display, variety night amongst others.

He enjoined all Rivers people and Nigerians to join them in the activities.
