NSCDC officer kills 100 level NDU student in Bayelsa

A 100 level student in the department of Petrochemical Engineering, Niger Delta University (NDU), Obinna Onyeukwu has been reportedly shot dead by a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps officer.

The incident, we gathered, occurred at about 10:30PM in Amasoma town in Bayelsa state at the weekend.

Although the spokesperson of the Bayelsa state Police command, SP Butswat Asinim has declined comment on the matter but we learnt that the NSCDC official who shot the student is said to be attached to a Stalwart of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state and he’s been detained by the Police in Amasoma community.

In the main time, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Bayelsa state, Harcourt Johnson said the command has started investigation to ascertain the true position of the matter.
