MOSOP President’s country razed down by cultists

…As council boss vows track down hoodlums

More communities are still falling to attack by the rampaging cultists in Ogoni.

This is even as the country home of  President of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People, MOSOP, Legborsi Pyagbara in Nyokuru community was reportedly razed down by suspected cultists in what has been described as a coordinated attacks on communities in Nyor-Khana axis of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday.

The attack comes barely 24 hours after no fewer than15 persons were killed and several houses burnt in Okwale Community.

Attack on Taabaa community same Wednesday morning also left at least four persons dead with houses belonging to the community’s Royal Highness and Youth President set ablaze.

Community sources also disclosed that the gunmen also raided Lorre Community.

Mr Pyagbara was not at home during the attack, adding that homes of prominent people in the communities were equally raided.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State police command confirmed the incidents, adding that the command has dispatched officers to the affected communities.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Barr. Lahteh Loolo has vowed to track down those responsible for the wanton attacks on Khana Communities.

He stated this during his visit to Okwale, Nyokuru and Taabaa communities on Wednesday.

Loolo charged security agencies to be tough on criminal elements in the communities and also ordered them to deal ruthlessly and decisively with any group of persons, or anyone linked to such barbaric act.

‘ My government will not tolerate any form of violence, irrespective of who is involved. I have vowed to go after criminals in every nooks and crannies of Khana local communities,’ He warned.

The council boss described the incident as unfortunate and called for collaboration between security agencies and people of these communities.
