Gunmen kidnap two policemen in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of two officers by unknown gunmen in Ngo community, Andoni Local Government Area of   the state.

It was gathered that the gunmen abducted the police officers after a rain of bullets and took them to an unknown destination.

The police officers were said to be returning from Ngo to Ebukuma where they usually station to search passengers boarding boats to other Andoni communities when they were waylaid by the gunmen.

Also abducted was a civilian identified simply as Festus.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State Police Command said the command has begun a manhunt for the hoodlums.

He said efforts have been intensified to rescue the kidnapped policemen unharmed.
