Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has said he has had no close contact with Chief of Staff (COS) to the President, Abba Kyari, before or after he (Kyari) tested positive for Coronavirus.
He stated this when he visited the Isolation Centre, newly created by the state government at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) Okolobiri, in Yenagoa Council Area of the state.
Diri, who visited the isolation centre to ensure that everything was in place in the fight against the virus, urged all Bayelsa people to maintain personal hygiene, avoid social gatherings of over 50 persons, saying it was the only way to prevent the spread of the disease until a cure was found
Similarly, the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has ban all uninvited guest to the Government House.
This he said was part of measures to curb the spread of the dreaded virus.
Rivers State Wednesday night recorded it first case of the dreaded virus.
Wike who announced the ban while inaugurating the State Taskforce on Covid-19 said only visitors on appointment would be allowed.
The governor also charged the committee not to allow any person into the state through any means no matter how highly placed beginning from 6:00pm and further warned politicians not to dare the committee.
