MOSOP, others call on police to investigate threat on Senator Abe

By: Felix Ikpotor

Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) has said it won’t take the threats to lives of Ogonis by any group or persons  in Rivers State and beyond lightly.

The body stated this following the alleged threat on the life of Senator Magnus Ngei Abe by one Innocent Worgu, believed to be loyal to Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Publicity Secretary of MOSOP, Barrister Nabolobari Naa-zigalue while speaking with newsmen, called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the alleged threat on the life of Senator Magnus Abe.

He said: “ we would not sit by and watch the legacies of our founding fathers go in flakes. We would not just sit by and fold our arms and say its Rivers State. By now the Inspector General of Police and the Rivers State Commissioner of Police would have been called to ensure the arrest of Worgu”.

Also, a former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Gokana Local Government Area, Kadilo Kabari has called for the immediate arrest of Worgu.

Kabari who is also the Facilitator-General of Ogoni Generation Next Project  said he is not surprised at the threat of Worgu.

He said: “its not surprising. You would remember that members of that same faction of our party (All Progressives Congress) invaded Justice Nworgu’s court, you would also remember that members of that same faction of our party disobeyed all court orders from the High Court to Supreme Court that declared Ojukaye Flag-Amachree’s executive council illegal and now someone from that faction is threatening fire and brimstone in a democracy”

“It’s high time the law enforcement agencies not just look at these charlatans on the streets, but also arrest the sponsors of these persons”.

PHSpectator recalls that two videos have recently went viral with persons suspected to be Amaechi’s loyalists threatening to cause mathem in the state if the minister is expelled from the All Progressives Congress (APC)
