#JUSTICE FOR SLEEK: Family accuse police of extortion to carryout autopsy

…RIVCSO demands immediate arraignment of officers

The family of Late Daniel Ikeagwuchi alias Sleek allegedly killed by police officers at Elelenwo in Obio/Akpor Local government area have raised alarm over extortion by police to carry out autopsy on the deceased.

Father of the deceased, Dominic Ikeagwuchi who spoke to journalists during a press briefing in Port Harcourt said despite paying for the autopsy to be carried out, the result was not given to him, stressing that he was told to apply for the result through his lawyer.

Also speaking, mother of the decease Agnes Ikeagwuchi said those behind the death of his son should also face the law.

On his path, the chairman, Rivers State Civil Society Organization, Enefaa Georgewill condemned the extortion from the family of the decease by police and called for the arraignment of the officers involved in the killing.

He expressed worry over delay in their arraignment.

Port Harcourt Spectator recalls that late Daniel Chibuike Ikeagwuchi a 20 year old upcoming musician was allegedly shot to death by a Police Officer guarding a supermarket at Elelenwo  when the deceased and two of his friends were being chased by personnel of anti kidnapping unit.

The incident which went viral through a recorded video generated lots of public outcry leading to the arrest of the officers.
