Former Reps member to challenge Buni led CTC of APC

By: Felix Ikpotor

A former member of the Federal House of Representatives and member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Emmanuel  Deeyah from Rivers State has vowed to challenge the National Caretaker Committee of the party led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.

Deeyah who represented Khan/Gokana Federal Constituency and said to be an ally of the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was quoted as saying that the Buni-led CTC is “unconstitutional and a rape on our democracy and the rule of law for His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni to double as Yobe State Governor and National Caretaker Committee Chairman of APC at the same time”.

The one time Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly argued that the APC constitution forbids such and vowed to challenge the APC National CTC Chairman, Gov Buni in court.

The Buni-led CTC two days ago dissolved all state and zonal structures of the party and sacked the Deputy National Chairman, Hilliard Ita. A development we gathered has not gone down well with most chieftains of the party across the various states of the federation.

The National Executive Committee, NEC, of the party also extended the tenure of the current CTC and ordered for a revalidation of membership nationwide.
