By: Emmanuel Nlewedum

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bera, Ward 16, Gokana Local government area of Rivers State has denied suspending former senator representing Rivers South East at the National Assembly,  Magnus Ngei Abe from the party.

The party also announced the expulsion of former Deputy National Secretary of the party, Hon. Victor Tombari Giadom from the party.

The Caretaker Committee of APC, Bera ward 16 in a statement jointly signed by it’s Chairman, Mr. Kilsii Gilbert, the Secretary, Mr. Gboto David Kpor and twenty four other members at the end of an extra ordinary emergency meeting in Bera on Monday, noted that Senator Magnus Ngei Abe remains the leader of the party in Ward 16 and Gokana LGA.

The statement reads thus: “The attention of Ward 16 APC Bera in Gokana Local government area of Rivers State has been drawn to a purported suspension of Most Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe from the All Progressive Congress by some unknown persons in Ward 16 APC Bera.

“We the members of the Caretaker Committee of Ward 16 APC Bera wish to state clearly that the purported suspension is a nullity as it is not the position of the Caretaker Committee of the Ward 16 APC Bera.

“We want to state unequivocally that Most Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe remains a prominent member of APC Nigeria and the leader of the APC Ward 16 Bera in Gokana Local government area of Rivers State”.

The leadership of the party in Ward 16 Bera also noted that the expulsion of Victor Giadom was based on his involvement in anti-party activities.

“We affirmed the previous suspension of Chief Victor Tombari Giadom from the All Progressive Congress (APC) Ward 16 Bera in Gokana Local government area of Rivers State.

“We hereby expel him from the All Progressive Congress (APC) ward 16 Bera for anti-party activities from 2019 up to date”.

They further noted that “the decision was taken  as a result of his refusal to honour invitations sent to him to answer allegations of  anti-party activities levelled against him”.
