Provide power supply before COVID-19 vaccine, Sani tells Buhari

Former Kaduna lawmakerm Shehu Sani has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to provide storage facilitates and emergency power supply before purchasing Covid-19 vaccine.

Sani warned that such provision was necessary in order to preserve the vaccines at minus 70degree Celsius.

The former lawmaker said this on Monday on his Twitter page.

His post read: “To the federal government: Before you Credit N400 Billion to #COVID19 vaccine manufacturers, make adequate provisions for storage facilities and emergency power supply that can preserve them at minus 70 degree Celsius. It is not our normal fridge oh, ehen.”

Meanwhile, the Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19 has promised to administer the vaccine free to Nigerians.

National Coordinator of PTF, Sani Aliyu disclosed this in Abuja on Wednesday.

He added that President Muhammadu Buhari had given the PTF the mandate to proceed with preparations with regard to the vaccine which will at least be given free to 40m Nigerians when available.
