Enugu transport commissioner slumps, dies during budget defence

Enugu State Commissioner for Transport, Chief Mathias Ekweremadu is dead.

The deceased was the younger brother to Nigeria’s former Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu.

 He slumped and died  o Thursday at the Hallow Chambers of the Enugu State House of Assembly while defending his ministry’s budget

The younger Ekweremadu prior to his appointment as Commissioner by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,  had served as a member of the State House of Assembly

He hails from Aninri local government area of the state.

As at the time of filing this report, both his family and state government were yet to make any statement on the unfortuate development.
