As controversy continue to trail the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Rivers State following the election held few days ago which produced Comrade Nwisabari Bani Samuel as the Chairman, local government area coordinators of the 23 councils in the state have come out to declare their support for the new leadership.

The LGA Coordinators in a statement made available to PHSpectator and signed by all the coordinators recognized  Bani as his executive as the duly elected leadership, stressing that the election has restored sanity in the youth body.

The statement which was signed by Comrades Solomon Okowa, Dr Vincent Destiny, Warman Happy, Adaye Bob-Manuel, Peter Chinda, Dimkpa Kingsley amongst others also thanked the Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo led National Executive Council and other state chairman for helping to restore sanity in the Rivers State chapter of the body.

The statement reads thus:

   1. We emphatically and categorically as duly elected 23 Local Government Area coordinators of the NYCN, Rivers State Chapter, recognize and affirm our unwavering and undiluted support to Comrade Nwisabari Bani Samuel as the Authentic Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State.

2. We state evenly and succinctly that, the Rivers State Executive Council of the NYCN ably led by Comrade Nwisabari Bani Samuel, is the well-constituted NYCN Executive Council in Rivers State, duly established under the precepts of the laws and procedures of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

3. That we reemphasize and reaffirm our unalloyed willingness and readiness to work with the Executive Chairmen of our respective Local Government Areas, to ensure the existence of Peace and Harmony among youths.

4.That the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), is a breeding ground for young people to acquire better knowledge of leadership and administration hence, not a robot or an appendage of any political party whose membership is drawn across party line.

5. That we are appealing to our dear Governor His Excellency, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike, to lift the embargo placed on  employment in the state as to allow qualified Rivers Youths, to fit into vacancies in the state civil service.

6. We are appealing to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, in His genuineness of heart and for the Love for the youths, direct Local Government Chairmen in the State, to appoint NYCN Coordinators As “Secretary To The Council Or Supervisor For Youth Development” at their various LGAs, to replicate what is done by His KOGI STATE Counterpart, in a way to rapidly enhance youth development and inclusion in governance.

7. We are also calling on our fellow Youths across the State especially at our respective LGAs, to join hands with us as we seek to work hand in hand, to serve for the good of us all, while we reiterate our resolved to work with the government at all level, as it is stated in the constitution of the NYCN and the byelaws of the NYCN Rivers State, which is non-negotiable.

All gratitude once again, goes to God Almighty, for finally restoring lasting peace in the Rivers State of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria.
