Easter: Reflect the love, sacrifice of Christ, clergy urges Christians

By: Emmanuel Nlewedum

As the World commemorate 2021 Easter celebration, Nigerians especially Christians have been urged to always reflect the love and sacrifice demonstrated by Jesus Christ on the cross.

General Overseer of Christ the Life Bible International Church, Prophet E. S. Okenna gave the charge in his Easter message at the Adoration Ground in Omuanwa, Ikwerre local government, Rivers State on Sunday.

He said the death and resurrection of Christ teaches Love, peace, tolerance, sacrifice, victory and brings salvation to mankind.

He charged Christians and the world in general to reactivate their faith and believe in Christ as well as emulating him by making sacrifices that will impact the lives around them.

“The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has given us victory over death, infirmities, sickness unrighteous living and sin.

“My message to the world especially christians in Nigeria is that the death and resurrection of Christ should reflect in their lives and make them believe more on Christ.

“His death gives us reason to have faith in him, he showed us love unquantifiable, the Bible said, he (Jesus) being the only begotten son of God gave himself to bear all the shame and insults on the cross. He was bruised for our iniquities and chastised for our transgressions just to save us from condemnation.

That sacrifice will no man, not even a biological father can make for his son.

“All these sacrifices, tolerance, shame, his death and everything defines love and his resurrection gives us victory.

He however enjoined christians to use the celebration to accomodate Christ in their lives and pray for peace and unity.
