Abe presents report on KAZTEC Engineering Ltd to Sylva

The  Interministerial Committee on Assistance to Kaztec Engineering Limited has presented its report to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva.

 The Committee which was inaugurated by the minister on the directive of  President Muhammadu Buhari, on August 14 2020, was mandated to investigate the extent of damage which KAZTEC Engineering Limited had incurred over the last 5 years of inactivity with recommendations on ways to revive the facility .

KAZTEC is a 100 percent indigenous company specialized in drilling and production of platforms and other specialized structure for the oil and gas industry.

Presenting the report, Chairman of the Committee and board member of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corperation, NNPC,Senator Magnus Abe  thanked the minister for the opportunity to ‘carry out this sensitive national assignment’.

He said, ‘we are here today to make a formal presentation of our report even though we have done the interim report’

‘We also thank Mr. President for being alive to the plight of Nigerians by looking into this issue and hopefully making sure that the problem is arrested.’

Accepting the report, the Minister stated ‘let me use this opportunity to first and foremost wish you a happy Easter. This report was supposed to be made earlier but was delayed due to the Easter Holidays.’

‘You were very carefully chosen to be in this committee. After Mr. President asked me to look into the matter and make recommendations, I searched for the best brains. You have not disappointed me, and, ofcourse, most importantly, the President and our dear nation’

‘In the Ministry of Petroleum we always ensure that there is justice for investors, justice for workers and justice for Nigerians’

‘I will ensure that your report is forwarded to Mr. President and our dear President, in his wisdom, would act on it’

Also present during the presentation were Mr. Bitrus B. Nabasu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Dr Kelechi Ofoegbu, TA Legal to the minister, Biodun Aikomo from the Ministry of Justice and other ranking members of the committee.
