Late night shooting kills one in Port Harcourt

One person was confirmed dead Wednesday night during a shoot out that occurred at the old Port Harcourt township axis of Rivers State.

The incident our correspondent reports, occurred around 10:00pm at Victoria Street and Banham Cathedral junction onn Aggrey Road in the area.

No group has been identified as the masterminds of the shooting eve as residents of the area are still in fear.

One of the victims was identified simply as Oga Dike, a  businessman in the area.

Our correspondent reports that the shooting lasted less than 10 minutes.

Policemen from Area Command were later seen around the area after the gunmen have left.

The police in the state was yet to issue ay statement on the matter at the time of this report.
