Rivers 2023: Danagogo scolds Eze

By: Admin

Secretary to Rivers State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo has reacted to a recent publication  by a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, calling him  to resign and join forces with APC in actualizing the agitation for a power shift to the riverine.

The SSG  described the call as “an ill-intentioned advice that smacks of mischief and sycophancy.”

The SSG’s response was contained in a statement by his  press officer, Juliana Masi.

The statement reads, RE: Power Rotation In Rivers: Eze Advises SSG To Resign, Save Face. Our attention has been drawn to an online publication titled “Power Rotation In Rivers: Eze Advises SSG To Resign, Save Face”, made by one Eze Chukwuemeka Eze. In the said publication, the said Eze urged the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo to resign from his position and join the All Progressives Congress (APC) to achieve a power rotation in Rivers State.

“This is an ill-intentioned advice that smacks of mischief and sycophancy, and I will advise Mr. Eze to desist from roping the Secretary to the State Government into his personal convictions and opinions as Dr. Danagogo has never had any discussion of his political interest with him. It is noteworthy that Chief Sergeant Awuse is a very distinguished veteran politician and elder statesman who is entitled to his personal political opinions”.

“His opinions do not represent the position of the PDP or that of the Governor who is the leader of the party. Besides, His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has categorically emphasized that the leadership and stakeholders of the PDP will at the appropriate time meet and take decision on candidates for the 2023 Election. The SSG strongly supports this stand which is the right way to choose the Governorship or other candidates of the party”.

“We will therefore encourage members of the PDP and well-meaning Rivers people to be weary of persons whose interest is to sow seeds of discord in the state as the Governor Nyesom Wike led administration will remain steadfast and assiduously work to positively impact Rivers people across all geo-political zones”.

“The SSG is glad to be part of the phenomenal progress achieved under the leadership of Governor Wike which is well appreciated by all right-thinking and well-meaning Rivers people and Nigerians as he is developing both state and federal infrastructures in the state and has acquitted himself excellently with a vibrant economy that is growing exponentially by the day. As the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Danagogo’s resolve is an unalloyed loyalty and support to Governor Nyesom Wike in his phenomenal delivery of the dividends of democracy to the good people of Rivers State”.
