Cleric backs Mbaka, says Buhari has failed Nigeria

By: Emmanuel Nlewedum

A Christian cleric in Rivers State, Prophet Ezuo Simeon Okenna said the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka was right to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign or be impeached by the National Assembly.

Okenna, who is the General Overseer of Christ the Life Bible International Church, CTLBIC, while speaking during a midweek service at the Adoration Ground of the church in Omuanwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State said “Nigerians are suffering, the people are passing through hard times occasioned by poverty and insecurity in the country.”

Recently, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has been in the news for asking President Muhammadu Buhari to resign or be impeached by the National Assembly over the rising insecurity in the country.

The Presidency while responding alleged that the priest was calling for the president’s resignation because he wasn’t offered a contract he requested for, a claim Mbaka had denied.

Mbaka has since last week faced a lot of criticism  from Nigerians with many, questioning the veracity of his prophecies on the outcome of the 2015 and 2019 general elections.

But, Prophet Okenna, reacting to the development, cautioned the Federal Government and Nigerians against attacking men of God for speaking the truth on critical issues in the country.

He advised all citizens to desist from attacking men of God who had refused to be compromised or be political or face the wrath of God.

He said, “The devil is out to stop the move of God in Nigeria. Whenever a post is made on social media against men of God, it will attract more comments and likes.

“Many Nigerians don’t know what prophecies is all about. Some prophecies might not be sweet to you but as far as it is coming from a true man of God, there is profit in the prophecy.

“That Father Mbaka prophesied that Goodluck Jonathan will lose the 2015 election to Buhari, and that Buhari will be returned as president of Nigeria in 2019 and his prophecies came to pass, does not stop him from speaking the truth when things are going wrong. And it can never be a crime against him.

“I must advice our leaders to listen to the voice of the Lord through his servant, do what is right and stop fighting him. Nigeria was supposed to be appreciating Mbaka for speaking out on the security challenge facing the country when so many pastors and stakeholders are silent”.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka is currently serving a month suspension placed on him by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu .

Meanwhile, the embattled clergyman, Mbaka has apologized for his actions and those of his supporters.

PHSpectator reports that supporters of the priest had protested lastweek at the bishop’s court where they allegedly destroyed some properties.
