Rep Dekor welcomes Wike to Ogoniland

As preparations are geared up for the reception of Governor Nyesom Wike by the Ogoni ethnic nationality this weekend at Bori, the Traditional Headquarters of the Ogoni people, the lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Dumnamene Robinson Dekor has called on the people of Ogoni to file out in their numbers to accord the State Chief Executive a rousing welcome.

Dekor who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Host Communities said there is every reason for every Ogoni citizen irrespective of council area or political affiliation to receive the Governor with joy and celebrations, stressing that the landmarks of

the Wike administration in Ogoniland calls for gratitude and special

honour to His Excellency who according to him, has demonstrated his

love for the Ogoni people in various form.

The federal lawmaker and a former Works Commissioner said Wike has become a household name not only within the state but also outside

the state because of his laudable achievements and contributions to the continued unity of the country.

This, according to the former Deputy Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly is encapsulated in different appellations given the governor for his efforts as ‘Mr Quality Projects’, Promise Keeper, Pillar of democracy and the conscience of Rivers people and many more, based on quality leadership and good governance which he has engendered in the State.

But above all, Dekor said the Ogoni people will forever remain grateful and indebted to the governor for appointing Ogoni sons and daughters into positions of trust and for siting numerous projects in

Ogoniland particularly the dualization of the Saakpenwa-Bori-Kono-Road which he said has changed the landscape of Ogoni and is hoped to

further better the economic situation of the Ogoni people.

The federal lawmaker therefore, appealed to all Ogoni people both at home and abroad to deem it privileged to host the Governor that has

shown the Ogoni people love as according to him, one good turn deserves another.

“While we graciously await your historic arrival to Bori, the

traditional headquarters of my good people of Ogoni, Your Excellency,

it’s my pleasure and honour to welcome you to your second home. The Ogonis are indeed, happy and elated to see you once again in our midst

and pray that this particular visit will further cement the good relationship between Your Excellency, your administration and our people. May the good Lord grant you safe and fruitful journey to and

from our Ogoniland.

Once more, welcome Your Excellency”, Dekor prayed.
