Rivers police investigates viral kidnap video

 Rivers State Police Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka  has ordered an investigation into the viral video of a lady who said she was abducted and later released.

The lady in the video said she was abducted on her way from work at St John’s bus stop  and taken to a bush in Etche where some persons were killed in her presence.

The lady while showing evidence of physical assaults said her family and friends paid huge ransom before she was released.

Reacting to the development, Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State Police Command said the Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka has ordered investigation into the matter to ascertain its veracity.

The statement reads, “That the Command wishes to appeal to the general public and indeed the young lady to access the nearest Police Station and lodge her complaint for necessary action.

” That the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday wishes to reassure the public that there is no cause for alarm, as undercover Operatives have been deployed for that purpose.

” That resident of the State are advised to remain calm and ignore certain misguided posts on Social Media capable of creating fear and panic in the minds of residents of the State.

” For the umpteenth time, Rivers State is safe and secure and will remain so by the Grace of God.

” That the public is however once again enjoined to increase their security consciousness and report all suspicious characters and movements to the Police via the following security Numbers:-
