Rivers: Omudioga boils again as cultists behead OSPAC commander

Gunmen suspected to be cultists have beheaded one Mr Alex Umezuruike, the commander of the now disbanded OSPAC, a local vigilante outfit in Omudioga community, Emohua local government area of Rivers State.

The cultists who invaded the community also burnt houses, cars and other properties.

Omudioga had been in the news recently for cult related killings.

The incident according to a source has led to indigenes deserting the community to take refuge in nearby villages.

However, Chairman of the Local Government Area, Chidi Llyod, who confirmed the incident said security personnel deployed to the community have now brought the situation under control.

He stated that after the killing of the commander of the now disbanded security outfit by gunmen, some hoodlums took advantage of the situation and started burning houses.

PHSpectator recalls that Lloyd, few days after he took over as council chairman disbanded the vigilante outfit with the promise to constitute a proper security outfit in the area.
