Rivers varsity suspends three students for possession of locally made pistol, others

 Management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Rivers State has suspended the three students over possession of firearm and other offences.

A statement by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mekuri Ozo-Ndimele and made available to newsmen said the students were involved in armed robbery, assault and other offences.

The stamen reads:

The following students from studies, pending the outcome of the investigation of their matters by the Students Disciplinary Committtee:

1. Nwankwo Sunday Gift – UE/2018/POL. SC/B.Sc.ED4/0852 – Dept. of Pol. Sc. – unlawful possession of locally made pistol and attempted robbery of his fellow student’s mobile phone at gunpoint. Handed over to State SIIB.

2. Okwe Michael Amaogechi – U/2019/5848 – Dept. of G & C – unlawful possession of locally made pistol and attempted robbery of his fellow student’s mobile phone at gunpoint. Handed over to State SIIB.

3. George ThankGod Tamunoimana – UE/2018/COMP/B.Sc.ED4/0201 – Dept. of Computer Sc. – attacked and caused bodily harm to one of his fellow students with his gang suspected to be cultists.

Their names have been submitted to DSS for profiling.
