Bariere while condoling with families who lost their loved ones in the attack, expressed sadness over the ugly incident.

He assured the people of the area that he will do everything possible to ensure that perpetrators of the act do not go unpunished.

The council chairman advised people of the community not to launch any reprisal attack on anyone or any community as government is on top of the situation.

Meanwhile, a traditional ruler in the area, Chief Magnus Edooh has joined in condoling with families that lost their persons in the incident.

Edooh who stated this while featuring on a live radio programme monitored in Port Harcourt, commended the security operatives in the area for restoring peace.

He called for the establishment of more police stations to effectively fight crime in the area.

“We are crying and calling on those responsible to provide more security posts and logistics in the area. Khana is one of the largest local councils in Rivers State and to use only one central police station in Bori to comb all areas is very huge,” he said.

While commending the council chairman for his proactive steps in securing the area, he appealed for calm from the people and to avoid reprisal attacks.
