All is now set for the South South Citizens Summit on National Integration, Peace and Security organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in the Gardencity, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Citizens’ Summit is organised to bring critical stakeholders from across the country to dialogue and proffer solution to the myriad of challenges and to bridge the trust gap across ethnic groups, religious bodies and the widening economic divide between the elites and masses in the Nigerian polity in the six geopolitical zones and that of the South-South region.
A statement by the institute said members of ethnic nationalities, religious bodies, civil society, political parties, professional and trade unions, youth organizations, the organised private and public sectors and government representatives are expected to send position papers and delegates from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers States.
It added that resolutions from the summit would be collated in a book of solutions and form the fulcrum for a National Citizen’s Summit and thereafter, sent to the National Assembly.
The summit is expected to hold on Thursday 4th November, 2021 at the Nabo Graham Douglas Law Auditorium, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt with the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as special guest of honour, it added.
