By: Felix Ikpotor

There is palpable fear  amongst residents of the Okija Street in Mile two Diobu, Port Harcourt following the alleged killing  of two police officers by suspected kidnappers Tuesday night.

According to sources,  the police officers who were on a stop and search operation at the Okija bridge junction were shot at sight by the kidnappers who fled the scene after committing the crime.

It was also gathered that the  Okija Electrical Spare Parts Market along the street was shut Friday morning, as shop owners  were afraid of mass arrest by the police.

The Rivers  Police Command Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the report, adding that the command would go after the killers.
