Open grazing: Bayelsa govt arrest herdsmen for violating law

The Bayelsa State Livestock Management Committee in collaboration with the Nigerian Police have arrested some herdsmen for violating the State open grazing law.

They were arrested at Onopa, Tombia-Amassoma road and Zarama respectively.

The team was led by the Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone who is also the Enforcement Committee Chairman of the Bayelsa State Livestock Management Committee, Comr. Clever Inodu.

The Chairman, Comr. Clever Inodu warned other herdsmen to relocate to the Bayelsa Palm, the site allocated to them for grazing or they will face the law.

He also asked other Bayelsans to report any case of such in their neighborhood to the committee .
