Vice Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro local government area of Rivers State, Hon. Angela Anthony Oju-Kienmie has won the DMOMA 2021 Lady of Excellence Award.
The award which was presented to her at an event in Port Harcourt over the weekend also had other personalities in the state bagging other awards in various categories.
The award is meant to recongnise and honour persons that have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavour.
According to the organisers, Hon. Oju-Kienmie was particularly honoured because of her girl-child and women advocacy.
Responding shortly after the award was presented to her, Hon. Oju-Kienmie dedicated the award to God Almighty, her family and friends for nominating and voting her to win the award.
She also expressed. gratitude to the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for giving women the chance to hold leadership positions in the state.
“I want to thank and those who nominated and voted for me to win the award and to the organisers for recognizing my effort in the girl child advocacy. This will spur me to do more for this young people and the society at large. I want to thank God Almighty and also the Governor, Nyesom Wike, his deputy, Dr. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, my boss Hon. Enyiada Cookey-Gam and to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in the LGA. I’m also indebted to the family of the Omorodions for their support,” she said.
