Tipper driver commits suicide in Port Harcourt

A  man said to be in his early 40s on Sunday, February 20, 2022 committed suicide in Port Harcourt, capital city of Rivers State.

The man simply identified as Justice was found dead with rope tied on his neck and hung on a tree at back of Octopus Sandfill Jetty at Eagle Island, Port Harcourt City local government area.

Mr. Justice, a member of Tipper Drivers Association of Nigeria, Eagle Island branch according to sympathisers, hails from Etche.

When our correspondent visited the place,  members of the association where in an emergency meeting over the incident.

The South-South Zonal Chairman of the association, Prince Barifodum who confirmed receiving the report of the death of their member Justice described the incident as unfortunate even though he was yet to get details on what led to the man taking his own life.

It was reported that the body of the deceased was evacuated by the Azikiwe Divisional Police Headquarters.
