Banigo eulogises role of mothers in society

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has extolled the roles of mothers in nation building.

She said Mothering Sunday is celebrated yearly to acknowledge the role of women and mothers in society.

Banigo stated this during the year 2022, Mothering Sunday Service at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

She  stressed  that it was important for Christian Mothers to come together on a day like this to thank God for giving them the opportunity to be a blessing to mankind which according to her is the essence of the Mother’s Day Celebration.

The Deputy Governor, who was also, the Guest Preacher assured Christians that the Almighty God was desirous to help them, whenever they diligently seek His help.

“I want to tell you that it always hurts God when we seek man in place of Him, beloved if we seek God the way we seek human connections our search and struggle will be over. There are people who look up to men that they lose their trust in God, I pray, that will not be our portion.” She stressed.

Banigo said there are requirements to get God’s help, stressing that  God would not help the evildoer.

“If you are working in sin, God will not help you, sin is one thing that God will not associate with Himself, because He is a pure God, so whatsoever sin in our lives, we have to forsake them if you forsake your sin, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. She said.
