Engage in media advocacy Nsirim tells NIPR

Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Rivers State chapter, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim has urged members of the body to engage themselves in regular media advocacy in order to increase the security awareness among Nigerians.

He said the security situation in the country has deepened and become so worrisome that most Nigerians now live in perpetual fear daily.

Nsirim made the assertion while speaking during the ‘PR Moment’ of the body at their monthly meeting on Thursday in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital.

The chairman of NIPR who is also the state Commissioner for Information and Communications insisted that it is the responsibility of Public Relations practitioners to always set agenda and put the country on the right path to follow.

He appealed to the nation’s political leadership to prioritize the security concerns of the country inorder to avert any unforeseen collapse of the state of Nigerian.

Earlier, lead discussant of the PR Moment, Dr. Rita Innoma-Abbey, a security consultant and retired  Chief Superintendent of Police ( CSP), described the situation as not only disturbing but a threat to the unity of the nation as no part of the country is safe.
