A Port Harcourt Magistrate Court, Thursday, remanded 15 persons said to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre for alleged disruption of screening exercise at the state party secretariat.

The 15 suspects who are standing trial on a three-count charges of alleged felony, conspiracy and unlawful gathering to bridge peace, however, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

The suspects were arrested on Wednesday.

They were remanded despite pleas from their counsels Chigozie Baduwa, SB Batubo and OL Dogini.

The counsels had moved for bail application and prayed the court to grant their defendants bail relying on section 169 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Rivers State, number 7 of 2015.

Their plea was objected by the principal state counsel for the prosecution Chidi Ekeh.
