Yamaabana challenges disqualification by PDP Screening Committee

An aspirant for Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Comrade Legborsi Yamaabana has appealed his disqualification from participating in the primary elections of the party by the screening committee.

Yamaabana who is also the President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation expressed hope that his disqualification by the screening committee would be reversed by the appeals committee of the party.

He said: ” I have duely appealed my erroneous non-clearance to participate in the primary elections of our great party for House of Representatives, Khana/ Gokana Federal Constituency by the screening committee of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party”. “For the records, I complied and resubmitted all relevant documents in accordance with the electoral guidelines of our party and ofcourse in accordance with the Electoral Act”.

“I’m confident that the appeals panel which is made up of noble men and women will meticulously reveal the decision of the screening committee, set same aside and clear me to participate in the forthcoming primary elections”.

He called on his supporters to remain peaceful as he awaits the decision of the appeals panel.
