Rivers guber candidate absent as PDP NWC meets

The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party held a critical meeting with the leadership of the party including candidates ahead of the 2023 elections on Wednesday in Abuja.

However, the Rivers State governorship candidate of the PDP, Siminialayi Fubara was conspicuously absent at the meeting.

It is unclear if his absence has anything to do with the rift between the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

In the meantime, the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu has expressed optimism over resolving the party’s internal crisis.

On his part, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Muhammed said the party would not make public the strategies it is using to resolve the crisis.
