Ex-federal commissioner resigns from Rivers APC

The exodus of people from the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, seems not to be abating soon. This is as another strong ally of the immediate past transportation minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Mr Marshal Israel has resigned from the party.

Israel is the immediate past federal commissioner representing Rivers/ Bayelsa States in the Public Complaints Commission.

His resignation followed other high profile exits from the party such as Senator Magnus Abe, Dr Dawari George, George Tolofari, Chris Finebone, Dr Sam-Sam Jaja amongst others.

According to a letter he addressed to the ward chairman of the party in Etche ward 18, Israel sighted personal reasons for his resignation.

It reads in part: “Without grudges, discontent and disgust, I write to convey my decision to quit my membership of the All Progressives Congress.

My reasons for quitting are personal as it’s not in my nature to speak ill of my friends and leaders. I have moved on and my destination is yet unknown to me except God.

I appreciate the support, love and opportunities I received in the APC particularly the privilege to serve as Secretary To Council and Federal Commissioner representing Rivers and Bayelsa States in the Public Complaints Commission.

This notification will also serve as my formal resignation from the Caucus and leadership Council of the APC in Etche LGA”.
