“AHOADA WEST CONSTITUENCY MUST BE HEARD AGAIN”

Mr. Agidah Boma Carson (ABC) is the Rivers State  House of Assembly candidate  of the Labour Party for Ahoada West Constituency in the 2023 General Election.

Below is his manifesto:

Protocols,

Dear friends,

I count it a great opportunity to present myself before you, seeking your mandate to represent our beloved Ahoada West State Constituency.

A place we call home, our heritage and culture are amongst the strongest binding force we share, and more so our political development should be aligned with strong values, like integrity, passion,  selflessness and commitment, these two would work together to the betterment of every Ahoada West son and daughter just like me.

Today I stand not in front of you, to suppose that I have seen it all, or lay false claim that you follow me, I stand not behind you, for lest you think that we would refuse to take responsibility for the challenges facing our people, but I stand with you! Every Ahoada Wests on, home and abroad, who have the growth and development of our constituency at heart. Who walks by and says to himself we need better roads, we need good infrastructure, we need jobs for our youths, we need good, safe and portable drinking water, those who want support to go to school, those who want vocational training and even those who want to be able to pick up their phones and call their Assembly member, I stand with you. Everything you think is good for our people, I share them too. And that is why I’m here, asking you to trust me with your mandate and be guaranteed effective representation.

From my interactions with many of you, and with my contemporaries across the country, I can see that we are blessed with a determined generation of youth population, and we need to build human capacity, as well as priorities the challenges of our people before the government of the state.

I have also chosen to do in my first 365 days in office the following things for my people;

1. Provision of scholarships to indigent students that will cut across Nigeria’s educational structure.

2. Establishment of free educational coaching centres for earners preparing for external examinations  such as Basic Entrance Certificate Examination (BECE), WAEC, NECO, UTME etc.

3.Provision of visual aids, teaching/instructional materials e.g multimedia components, textbooks, IP  boards, desktop computers and laptops

4. I will initiate  policies  that will make loans, credit facilities and modernised farming machines available for our people.

5. We will set up a committee that will ensure that cooperative societies and other home-based groups benefit from Federal Government, and international grants available for them.

I believe this would go a long way to help and empower our people.

I am not unaware that some people will like to count my age as a disadvantage, but we all know that an average Ahoada West man knows by heart the problems of our locality, what matters is the will power to find solutions and anyone who is committed can do so.

The choice we face in the forthcoming election is either to keep things as they are, or make a radical departure from the old ways. To find a better way of doing things or keep repeating the mistake of the past. To fix the problem or keep compounding them. I represent a new way! I owe my loyalty to you my people.

Believe me when I say that it will not be business as usual, we will work with the State Government

to ensure that our roads get captured in projects and monitor it to its conclusion.

We will make laws that would provide jobs for our people, and make trading easier for our people.

It is with all these in mind, and taking account of the challenges that I have outlined, that I  have

decided to join this contest for the good of everyone irrespective of which area of Ahaoda West you’re

from, what matters is effective representation.

It is out of the desire to become a servant that helps drive home the dividends of democracy that I offer

myself to you.

I assure you that we can work together for the best of our people.

Thank You and God Bless!
