Court sacks Rivers APC guber candidate over dual citizenship

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has disqualified the All Progressives Congress  Gubernatorial Candidate for Rivers State, Tonye Cole.

This followed a suit instituted against him by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Justice Emmanuel Obile while delivering his judgment, agreed with the PDP’s suit that Cole has dual citizenship and that the Independent National Electoral Commission did not monitor the APC delegates’ election that produced him as the governorship candidate.

Rivers APC is yet to respond to the judgment at the time of this publication.
