As the 2023 elections draws closer, more groups have continued to drum support for Senator Magnus Abe, governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State.

“We want to reaffirm our commitment towards enthroning good governance in Rivers State and Nigeria at large.

“We know what we have been through as Non-indigenes in Rivers State, we are very aware also of the setbacks we have had in the time past, of policies of government which has affected us negatively more than improve our lives.

“But at this time and season, we need to do things differently and believe God for a better result, as He (God) knows us very well even before we were born.

“When the Nigeria Ethnic Forum had their first meeting with  Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the very day we agreed to partner with him on this project, his name was not on any ballot  but we believed strongly that he will have a platform  or a good party to contest with, to God be the glory, he is the Governorship Candidate  of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) the Party with the white Horse logo,” the group said.

It added: “We The Nigeria Ethnic Forum endorsed the candidacy of  Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe as the governorship candidate of choice and perfect fit for the job of The Chief Executive Officer of Rivers State and today we are calling on all the ethnics to go and collect their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

“We are also calling on all our ethnic nationalities in Rivers State to flag off their intensive campaigns for Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) our great Party and other candidates across the state”.

The group said, it came to the conclusion after profiling candidates contesting the elections and settled for Senator Abe.

NEF also noted that Abe as an Ogoni politician deserves  to be the next governor of Rivers State for equity, fairness and justice as no Ogoni son has been governor, deputy governor or even  speaker of the House of Assembly.
