Governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs has denied rumours in some quarters that he has withdrawn his petition against the election of Siminialayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who was declared winner of the March 23rd  2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

Lulu-Briggs in a statement by his media aide, Nia’Bari Fakae said he is fully committed to pursuing his case before the Rivers State Election Petitions Tribunal.

The statement also referenced the matter at the tribunal.

“In reference to Petition No: EPT/RV/GOV/11/2023, filed by Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and Accord as the petitioners/applicants against Siminalayi Fubara & 9 Ords, the case was brought before the tribunal on Thursday, 4th May, 2023, for the hearing of an ex-parte application for service by substituted means. The motion was duly moved and granted as requested, signifying the continued pursuit of justice through legal channels”.

“Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and the Accord (A) would like to clarify that they have not withdrawn their petition, and any claims suggesting otherwise are mere rumors spread by detractors and their agents. It is important to rely on verified information and official statements to ensure accuracy in reporting,” the statement said.

The statement further urged the public, media organizations, and all concerned parties to await verified updates from official sources, stressing that Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and the Accord (A) remain resolute in their pursuit of justice and will follow due process until a final determination is reached.
