New Rivers CP visits Ahoada, reassures officers

Newly deployed Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Tunji Disu has visited Ahoada East Local Government Area with a charge to officers of the command to apprehend wanted criminal popular known as 2Baba and others terrorising the area.

While addressing officers of Ahoada Area Command and Division, CP Disu, who was accompanied by top police officers from the state headquarters assured them that they are not alone in the fight against criminality in the area.

He said: “I know how difficult it is for you people to enter those difficult areas.I want you to know that we will assist you with all necessary logistics. I want you to know how seriously we regard your position. My first mission was to come to you and tell you how valuable you are.”

CP Disu further challenged the officers to help him succeed by apprehending the killers of SP Bako Angashim, stressing that no one will kill a police officer and walk away free.

He also warned the officers to be careful in order to avoid injuries and fatalities.

CP Disu also paid a visit to the Odieremenyi community, where five persons were killed on November 12, 2023. He also met with the Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Ben Eke.

 CP Disu promised that the command under his watch will do everything possible to bring lasting peace to the area.
