Rivers govt denies appointing Wike’s ally, Nwanosike RIWAMA Sole Administrator

The Rivers State Government has cautioned residents of the the state to be wary of false news purveyors who intend to confirm residents of the state about appointments and other decisions of the Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas

Secretary to Rivers State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, gave the warning in Government House while also refuting an alleged appointment of Mr Samuel Nwanosike as Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) by the Sole Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.

Nwanosike, a die-hard supporter of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, according to a statement purportedly issued by the Sole Administrator and circulated by Wike’s supporters on social media was yesterday, allegedly appointed as Sole Administrator of RIWAMA.

Also, two days ago, news circulated on the social media that the Sole Administrator has begun moves to recruit 10,000 workers in the state.

But Worika in a statement issued by the Head, Press Unit of the office of the SSG, categorically refutted the appointment of Mr Nwanosike and proposed recruitment of 10,000 persons into the state civil service.

He urged everyone to disregard the unfounded speculations and rely on official Government sources for accurate information.

“We wish to categorically inform the good people of Rivers State and the general public to ignore the fake announcements”, he emphasized.

“Be informed that all official communications from the Office of the Administrator of Rivers State have appropriate channels through which they are circulated, pay attention to such channels,” he stressed.

He added that the government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a peaceful, prosperous and united state.
